Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain secured a 5-0 victory against China's Bao Ziyi in the women's 75kg boxing final at the Aichi-Nagoya Games. This win, achieved on her 29th birthday, marks the end of Assam's 60-year wait for an individual Asian Games gold medal. Lovlina becomes the second Assamese athlete to achieve this feat, following Bhogeswar Baruah in 1966. Her victory is also a significant comeback after a previous quarterfinal loss.
