Russia Says Space Arms Race Can Be Prevented

Russia believes an arms race in space can still be prevented, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov. He stated at a BRICS summit briefing that conditions can be created to avert an arms race and the risk of conflict. Ryabkov also commented on US officials' statements about deploying weapons in space, noting that such remarks cannot harm the Russia-US dialogue on strategic stability because that dialogue currently does not exist.
