Thrissur Corporation Told To Demolish Dangerous Buildings

The Kerala State Human Rights Commission has ordered the Thrissur Corporation to speed up the demolition of dangerous, dilapidated buildings posing a public safety risk. The Corporation reported that 15 buildings are slated for demolition, with two already razed and two more undergoing demolition. Six buildings are involved in legal cases, while others require repairs or structural safety certificates. The commission has requested a detailed status report in October 2026.

केरल राज्य मानवाधिकार आयोग ने थ्रिस्सूर कॉर्पोरेशन को खतरनाक और जर्जर इमारतों को जल्द गिराने का आदेश दिया है। ये इमारतें लोगों की सुरक्षा के लिए खतरा बनी हुई हैं। कॉर्पोरेशन ने बताया कि 15 इमारतें गिराई जानी हैं, जिनमें से दो गिरा दी गई हैं और दो पर काम चल रहा है। छह इमारतों पर कानूनी मामले चल रहे हैं, जबकि बाकी को मरम्मत या सुरक्षा प्रमाण पत्र की ज़रूरत है। आयोग ने अक्टूबर 2026 तक विस्तृत रिपोर्ट मांगी है।
