Delhi Internet Suspension Extended To 8 Other Locations Amid CJP Protest

Mobile internet services were suspended around at least eight temporary jail locations in Delhi on Saturday, in addition to Jantar Mantar. The Union home ministry approved the shutdown within 500 metres of these sites from noon to 10 pm, citing public order concerns. Sites included Chhatrasal Stadium, Bawana Stadium, and Yamuna Sports Complex, where thousands of protesters, including CJP activists, lawyers, and student leaders, were detained. The Delhi Police had requested the suspension to prevent law and order disruptions during the demonstrations.

शनिवार को दिल्ली में जंतर मंतर के अलावा कम से कम आठ अस्थायी जेल स्थानों के आसपास मोबाइल इंटरनेट सेवाएं निलंबित कर दी गईं। केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने जन व्यवस्था संबंधी चिंताओं का हवाला देते हुए दोपहर 12 बजे से रात 10 बजे तक इन स्थलों के 500 मीटर के दायरे में शटडाउन को मंजूरी दी। स्थानों में छत्रसाल स्टेडियम, बवाना स्टेडियम और यमुना स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स शामिल थे, जहां सीजेपी कार्यकर्ताओं, वकीलों और छात्र नेताओं सहित हजारों प्रदर्शनकारियों को हिरासत में लिया गया था। दिल्ली पुलिस ने प्रदर्शनों के दौरान कानून व्यवस्था में व्यवधान को रोकने के लिए निलंबन का अनुरोध किया था।
