The CPI and CPI(M) have accused the TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh of using official machinery and police to obstruct opposition candidates from filing nominations for local body elections. Leaders alleged intimidation, attacks, and kidnapping of candidates backed by the Left parties and INDIA bloc in several districts. They demanded an inquiry and the removal of DIG Koya Praveen, questioning the State Election Commission's handling of complaints. The parties stated that an election victory achieved by preventing opponents from contesting undermines democratic legitimacy.
