They successfully cultivated a cancer-fighting plant virus on tobacco-relative and black-eyed pea plants in simulated microgravity. The virus was extracted without harming the plants, offering a potential solution for astronauts needing medication during extended journeys like a 400-day Mars mission where current supplies expire.
