Centre Grants X-Category Security to Families of Punjab Anti-Drug Activists

Hindustan Times · politics

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has provided X-category security cover to the families of two anti-drug victims in Punjab, citing heightened threats. This protection includes three security personnel per protectee. The families receiving this cover are those of a Dalit worker who died after confronting a minister and an activist shot dead for opposing drug sales. The allocation follows a recent visit by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the region, where he met with affected families.
