The railway authority dismissed comparisons with COVID-19 era data as misleading, explaining that train operations were limited during the pandemic. In 2018-19, punctuality was 69.2%, rising to 77.43% in 2025-26 and 77.11% in 2026-27 so far. Efforts to improve punctuality include enhanced monitoring, timetable adjustments, and infrastructure upgrades.
