Bihar CM Urges Centre to Open Two BHU Units in State

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has requested the Union government to establish at least two Banaras Hindu University (BHU) centres in Bihar. This initiative aims to expand higher education opportunities and strengthen academic activities within the state. During a review meeting with Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi, Choudhary also sought Rs 5,275 crore for infrastructure development in 211 newly opened government degree colleges. He further pressed for the re-establishment of Vikramshila University and the opening of more Kendriya Vidyalayas to improve access to quality education.

बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री सम्राट चौधरी ने केंद्र सरकार से बिहार में कम से कम दो बनारस हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय (बीएचयू) केंद्र स्थापित करने का अनुरोध किया है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य राज्य के भीतर उच्च शिक्षा के अवसरों का विस्तार करना और अकादमिक गतिविधियों को मजबूत करना है। केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री प्रह्लाद जोशी के साथ एक समीक्षा बैठक के दौरान, चौधरी ने 211 नए खोले गए सरकारी डिग्री कॉलेजों में बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास के लिए 5,275 करोड़ रुपये भी मांगे। उन्होंने गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा तक पहुंच में सुधार के लिए विक्रमशिला विश्वविद्यालय की फिर से स्थापना और अधिक केंद्रीय विद्यालयों को खोलने पर भी जोर दिया।
