Mumbai Yacht Operators May See Pontoon Fee Drop From Rs 90 to Rs 50
Times of India · business
Private yacht operators at Mumbai's Gateway of India may soon see a reduction in their pontoon access fees. A proposal is under discussion to halve the per-passenger fee from approximately Rs 90 to Rs 50, aiming to satisfy both operators and port authorities. This comes after the closure of a slipway led to reliance on paid pontoons, prompting a legal challenge by the Yacht Operators Welfare Association. The association is contesting the current tariff and management of the facility, seeking restoration of free slipway access.
