India Warns China: Border Peace Is Key For Improving Bilateral Ties

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has stated that for India and China to improve relations, China must maintain peace and stability on the border. He emphasized that border peace is not a minor condition but the foundation of bilateral ties. Following the 2020 violent clashes, relations soured significantly, and while there are signs of improvement, sustained border tension hinders normalization. Jaishankar noted that the situation has improved since 2024, with relations moving towards normalcy as border areas stabilize, but old differences persist.
