Anthropic's Claude AI Now Processes Requests Within India

Anthropic has enabled in-country inference for its Claude AI models in India via Amazon Bedrock. This allows requests sent through the India endpoint to be processed on servers located within the country, addressing data residency needs for regulated sectors. Indian customers using the India endpoint will have their prompts and AI responses handled locally. Claude Opus 5, Sonnet 5, and Haiku 4.5 are now available with this local processing capability. India is Anthropic's second-largest market for Claude.ai, with software development being a major use case.
