The Supreme Court has suggested linking pending traffic fines to electricity bills for recovery. A bench proposed that authorities could consider disconnecting electricity connections for those who fail to pay long-pending traffic challans. The court was informed that approximately ₹45,000 crore in e-challans are pending nationwide, with only ₹25,000 crore recovered. Other suggestions included suspending driving licenses and withholding renewal of vehicle documents until fines are cleared.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने लंबित ट्रैफिक जुर्माने को बिजली बिलों से जोड़ने का सुझाव दिया है ताकि वसूली की जा सके। एक बेंच ने प्रस्ताव दिया कि जो लोग लंबे समय से लंबित ट्रैफिक चालान का भुगतान करने में विफल रहते हैं, उनके बिजली कनेक्शन काटने पर अधिकारी विचार कर सकते हैं। अदालत को सूचित किया गया कि देश भर में लगभग ₹45,000 करोड़ के ई-चालान लंबित हैं, जिनमें से केवल ₹25,000 करोड़ ही वसूले गए हैं। अन्य सुझावों में जुर्माना भरने तक ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस निलंबित करना और वाहन दस्तावेजों के नवीनीकरण को रोकना शामिल था।
