SBI Manager Jailed For Fund Misappropriation

A State Bank of India chief manager in Mysuru has been sentenced to one year in jail by a city court for misappropriating over ₹61 lakh from a deceased customer's account and the bank's internal account. A.V. Kulkarni, formerly of SBI's Chamundipuram branch, was also fined ₹50,000, with ₹40,000 designated as compensation to the bank. The court found him guilty of misusing his official position between May 2009 and December 2011. He later admitted to the withdrawals and repaid the amount.
