West Bengal CM: Only Sanatan Dharma Followers To Touch Durga Idols During Immersion

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has stated that only followers of 'Sanatan Dharma' will be permitted to touch Durga idols during immersion in the Hooghly river. He issued instructions to the Kolkata Police Commissioner to identify individuals involved in carrying the idols, emphasizing the need to adhere to religious traditions. Adhikari reviewed immersion arrangements at Babughat, noting strengthened security measures and the inclusion of the National Disaster Response Force. He also expressed concerns about safety during immersion in the Ichamati river, where country boats are expected to carry spectators.

पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने कहा है कि हुगली नदी में मूर्तियों के विसर्जन के दौरान केवल 'सनातन धर्म' के अनुयायियों को ही मूर्तियों को छूने की इजाजत होगी। उन्होंने कोलकाता पुलिस आयुक्त को मूर्तियों को ले जाने में शामिल लोगों की पहचान करने का निर्देश दिया, और धार्मिक परंपराओं का पालन करने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया। अधिकारी ने बाबूघाट में विसर्जन की व्यवस्थाओं की समीक्षा की, जहाँ सुरक्षा उपायों को मजबूत किया गया है और नेशनल डिजास्टर रिस्पांस फोर्स (NDRF) को भी शामिल किया गया है। उन्होंने इछामती नदी में विसर्जन के दौरान सुरक्षा को लेकर भी चिंता जताई, जहाँ देशी नावों से दर्शकों के आने की उम्मीद है।
