IIT Bombay has initiated the process to hire 30 counselors on an ad-hoc basis to strengthen its mental health support system. This decision follows the recent suicide of BTech student Sahil Wakode, which led to student protests demanding better mental health facilities. SWC is recruiting 26 student counselors and 4 senior counselors. Applicants for student counselor roles need at least two years of experience, while senior counselors require ten years.
