A Michigan couple has lost a legal battle over a 50-foot-wide strip of land they claimed was wrongly excluded from their property due to a 1965 deed error. The couple, who purchased their land in 2015, argued that previous owners had used the disputed area for decades. However, two surveys commissioned by their neighbour placed the land firmly within the neighbour's property boundaries. The Michigan Court of Appeals ruled against the couple on October 9, 2026, stating there was insufficient evidence to prove their ownership claim.
