Ladakh Talks Inconclusive; MHA and Groups Exchange Drafts

Fresh talks between the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Ladakh's civil society groups have concluded without a resolution, with both sides deeming the discussions unsatisfactory. The MHA presented a 15-page proposal outlining a way forward, while representatives from the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance raised concerns and submitted their own draft proposals. Key demands for Ladakh include separate statehood and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. A subsequent round of discussions is scheduled for October 22 in New Delhi.
