UP Seat Sharing Row: Congress Demands 200 Seats, SP Focuses on Winning

Tensions are rising between the Samajwadi Party and Congress over seat distribution for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections. Congress in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam stated that the party had demanded 200 seats, not 150, emphasizing the need for equal respect and share. He stressed that Congress, as the oldest and largest party, can only win if it contests elections. Gautam also urged for the seat-sharing agreement to be finalized by October to allow candidates adequate preparation time.

समाजवादी पार्टी और कांग्रेस के बीच उत्तर प्रदेश चुनावों के लिए सीटों के बंटवारे को लेकर तनाव बढ़ रहा है। कांग्रेस प्रभारी राजेंद्र पाल गौतम ने कहा कि पार्टी ने 150 नहीं, बल्कि 200 सीटों की मांग की है, और बराबर सम्मान और हिस्सेदारी की जरूरत पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस, सबसे पुरानी और सबसे बड़ी पार्टी होने के नाते, तभी जीत सकती है जब वह चुनाव लड़े। गौतम ने यह भी कहा कि सीट-बंटवारे के समझौते को अक्टूबर तक अंतिम रूप दिया जाना चाहिए ताकि उम्मीदवारों को तैयारी के लिए पर्याप्त समय मिल सके।
