अमेरिका के राजदूत Sergio Gor ने ऐलान किया है कि भारत-अमेरिका व्यापार समझौते के मुख्य हिस्से फाइनल हो गए हैं और बातचीत तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ रही है। उन्होंने इसकी रफ़्तार की तुलना भारत-यूरोपियन यूनियन व्यापार समझौते से की, जिसमें दो दशक लगे थे। Gor ने रूसी तेल और गैस खरीदारों पर संभावित अमेरिकी प्रतिबंधों पर भी बात की, और कहा कि President Trump 10 दिनों के अंदर फैसला लेंगे। सीनेट के भारी समर्थन से पारित इस कानून में प्रतिबंधों की इजाज़त है, लेकिन यह भारत सहित किसी खास देश को निशाना नहीं बनाता है। Gor ने भरोसा जताया कि जल्द ही व्यापार समझौता हो जाएगा, जिसमें बस छोटी-मोटी बातें बाकी हैं।
