Supreme Court to Urgently Hear Punjab's Plea Against CBI Probe Linked to CM Mann's Office

The Supreme Court has agreed to urgently hear Punjab's plea challenging a High Court order directing the CBI to investigate corruption allegations against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's office. Senior advocates for the Punjab government argued that the order violates federal principles, especially with the state heading towards polls. The High Court had ordered the CBI probe based on allegations of corruption in transfers, policy manipulation, and cash for tenders, as raised by the Enforcement Directorate.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट पंजाब की उस याचिका पर तुरंत सुनवाई करने के लिए सहमत हो गया है जिसमें मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान के दफ्तर के खिलाफ भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों की जांच के सीबीआई को निर्देश देने वाले हाई कोर्ट के आदेश को चुनौती दी गई है। पंजाब सरकार के वरिष्ठ वकीलों ने दलील दी कि यह आदेश संघीय सिद्धांतों का उल्लंघन करता है, खासकर जब राज्य चुनाव की ओर बढ़ रहा है। हाई कोर्ट ने प्रवर्तन निदेशालय द्वारा उठाए गए तबादलों, नीति में हेरफेर और टेंडरों के बदले नकद के आरोपों के आधार पर सीबीआई जांच का आदेश दिया था।
