जल संसाधन विभाग की व्यापक बांध सुरक्षा मूल्यांकन समिति की एक विशेषज्ञ टीम ने तिरुवन्नामलाई में सथनूर बांध का विस्तृत निरीक्षण किया। यह समीक्षा, राष्ट्रीय बांध सुरक्षा अधिनियम 2021 के तहत अनिवार्य है, पूर्वोत्तर मानसून से पहले संरचनात्मक और सुरक्षा सुविधाओं का आकलन करती है। टीम ने स्पिलवे गेट्स और नहरों सहित विभिन्न घटकों की जांच की और साइट पर मौजूद इंजीनियरों से बातचीत की। सथनूर बांध भंडारण क्षमता और ऊंचाई के हिसाब से तमिलनाडु का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा बांध है, जो सिंचाई और घरेलू जल आपूर्ति के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है।
