Dhanteras: More Than Just Shopping, It's About Health and Ayurveda

TV9 Hindi · spirituality

Dhanteras, also known as Dhan Trayodashi, is celebrated two days before Diwali. While often associated with purchasing gold, silver, and utensils, its deeper significance lies in health, Ayurveda, and Lord Dhanvantari. In Indian culture, good health is considered the ultimate wealth, as material possessions can be regained, but compromised health diminishes life's joys. Lord Dhanvantari, an avatar of Lord Vishnu and the deity of Ayurveda, is believed to have emerged from the cosmic ocean holding a pot of nectar, symbolizing life, health, and medicine.
