The Uttar Pradesh State Human Rights Commission has requested a detailed report from the Shamli District Magistrate concerning the deaths of Mohit and Sumit. These individuals were allegedly involved in the murder of Haryanvi singer Ankit Balyan and were killed in a police encounter. The commission's action follows a complaint filed by former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, who seeks an independent inquiry into the circumstances of the encounter, citing allegations of a fake encounter.
