A fire erupted at Venkatesh Sponge Iron Factory in Ramgarh district on Tuesday, caused by furnace oil igniting during welding work. The blaze engulfed a conveyor belt, resulting in losses estimated in lakhs, though no casualties were reported. Firefighters brought the situation under control after about an hour. This incident has reignited concerns over industrial safety in Ramgarh, following three fatal accidents in private steel factories over the past five months that claimed nine lives.
