Pune is likely to face more stringent water restrictions after Diwali, as the civic administration explores options to manage available stock until August 2027. A meeting of all-party leaders, chaired by the city mayor, will finalize a revised water cut plan. Calculations for water supply until August 2027 were expedited after a canal committee meeting, which allocated 13 thousand million cubic feet (TMC) of water. However, the civic body seeks clarification on the exact quantum for the next ten months, having consumed 6 TMC in the last four months.
