IT, Telecom Stocks Decline Amid Market Selloff And FII Outflows
Business Standard · stocks
The Nifty IT index fell 0.79 per cent on Monday, with Tech Mahindra and TCS experiencing significant drops. The index has declined 25.73 per cent this year, nearing its 52-week low. Telecom stocks also slipped, with Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea down since Thursday. This market downturn is attributed to FII outflows and crude oil prices exceeding $100 a barrel. Analysts suggest the market is in a corrective phase, with profit booking ahead of the earnings season also contributing to the decline.
