Consumer electronics like ACs, TVs, and smartphones are set to become more expensive before Diwali. From October 1, AC prices may rise by 5-8%, with other appliances seeing a 3-4% increase. This marks the third price revision this year, driven by rising commodity costs for metals like copper, plastics, and electronics. A depreciating rupee also increases the import bill for essential components, as India imports 90-95% of its semiconductor and electronic needs. Increased freight costs further contribute to the price hikes.

दिवाली से पहले एसी, टीवी और स्मार्टफोन जैसे कंज्यूमर इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स महंगे होने वाले हैं। 1 अक्टूबर से एसी की कीमतों में 5-8% की बढ़ोतरी हो सकती है, जबकि अन्य उपकरणों की कीमतों में 3-4% की वृद्धि देखी जा सकती है। यह इस साल का तीसरा मूल्य संशोधन है, जो तांबा, प्लास्टिक और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स जैसी धातुओं की बढ़ती लागत के कारण हुआ है। कमजोर होता रुपया आवश्यक घटकों के आयात बिल को भी बढ़ाता है, क्योंकि भारत अपनी 90-95% सेमीकंडक्टर और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक जरूरतों का आयात करता है। बढ़े हुए माल ढुलाई की लागत भी कीमतों में वृद्धि में योगदान करती है।
