UP CEO Orders Removal of Duplicate Voter IDs After Multiple Applications

CEO Navdeep Rinwa has ordered officials to identify and remove duplicate voter IDs generated from multiple applications by the same individual. This directive follows an exchange on social media where a fact-checker flagged such an instance. While acknowledging the possibility of duplicate EPICs, the CEO's office stated that periodic deduplication is conducted via the ECINET platform. Efforts are underway to detect multiple applications at the submission stage to ensure the electoral roll published on November 12, 2026, is error-free.

सीईओ नवदीप रिणवा ने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया है कि वे एक ही व्यक्ति द्वारा कई आवेदन से बनी डुप्लीकेट वोटर आईडी की पहचान कर उन्हें हटा दें। यह निर्देश सोशल मीडिया पर एक फैक्ट-चेकर द्वारा ऐसे ही एक मामले को उजागर करने के बाद आया है। सीईओ कार्यालय ने डुप्लीकेट EPIC की संभावना को स्वीकार करते हुए कहा कि ECINET प्लेटफॉर्म के माध्यम से नियमित रूप से डुप्लीकेट को हटाया जाता है। 12 नवंबर, 2026 को प्रकाशित होने वाली मतदाता सूची को त्रुटि-मुक्त बनाने के लिए आवेदन जमा करने के स्तर पर ही कई आवेदनों का पता लगाने के प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं।
