AIFF President's FD Liquidation Plan Faces Member Opposition

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey's proposal to liquidate the federation's fixed deposit to cover the deficit from recent international friendly matches was opposed by members during a Special General Body Meeting. Members argued that the fixed deposit is only for emergencies and cannot be touched. Chaubey had previously claimed the federation would bear no financial burden for the matches against Brazil, Uruguay, and Panama. The estimated cost for these friendlies ranges between Rs 80 crore and Rs 85 crore. The matter will be discussed further in a future meeting.

AIFF अध्यक्ष कल्याण चौबे के हालिया अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैत्री मैचों के घाटे को पूरा करने के लिए फेडरेशन की फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट (FD) को तोड़ने के प्रस्ताव का सदस्यों ने स्पेशल जनरल बॉडी मीटिंग के दौरान विरोध किया। सदस्यों का तर्क था कि फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट केवल आपात स्थिति के लिए है और इसे छुआ नहीं जा सकता। चौबे ने पहले दावा किया था कि फेडरेशन पर ब्राजील, उरुग्वे और पनामा के खिलाफ मैचों का कोई वित्तीय बोझ नहीं पड़ेगा। इन फ्रेंडली मैचों की अनुमानित लागत 80 करोड़ रुपये से 85 करोड़ रुपये के बीच है। इस मामले पर भविष्य की बैठक में और चर्चा की जाएगी।
