The Uttar Pradesh Police has emerged as the country's top performer in narcotics disposal, destroying 1.72 lakh kg of drugs worth ₹418 crore under Operation Dahan in 2026. The police also confiscated properties worth ₹80.33 crore linked to drug traffickers and registered 4,197 cases under the NDPS Act. Authorities have seized assets worth nearly ₹48 crore in cases involving codeine-based cough syrup and are nearing the extradition of two alleged international traffickers. The state police have dismantled 26 drug cartels and busted five clandestine laboratories.

उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस ने ऑपरेशन दहन के तहत 2026 में ₹418 करोड़ की 1.72 लाख किलोग्राम ड्रग्स नष्ट करके नशीले पदार्थों के निपटान में देश का शीर्ष प्रदर्शनकर्ता बनकर उभरा है। पुलिस ने ड्रग तस्करों से जुड़ी ₹80.33 करोड़ की संपत्ति भी जब्त की और NDPS एक्ट के तहत 4,197 मामले दर्ज किए। अधिकारियों ने कोडीन-आधारित कफ सिरप से जुड़े मामलों में लगभग ₹48 करोड़ की संपत्ति जब्त की है और दो कथित अंतरराष्ट्रीय तस्करों के प्रत्यर्पण के करीब हैं। राज्य पुलिस ने 26 ड्रग कार्टेल को खत्म किया है और पांच गुप्त प्रयोगशालाओं का भंडाफोड़ किया है।
