Central Team Assesses Flood Damage in Ganjam District After Cyclone Arnab

An eight-member central team, led by Ravi Shankar from the Ministry of Home Affairs, inspected flood and landslide damage in Odisha's Ganjam district. The team assessed damage to river banks, crops, irrigation projects, roads, bridges, and collapsed houses in affected blocks. Ganjam district reported over one lakh people, one lakh hectares of paddy crops, and small businesses impacted. The central team previously visited Gajapati district and is scheduled to meet with the state government in Bhubaneswar to discuss flood assistance recommendations.

गृह मंत्रालय के रवि शंकर के नेतृत्व में आठ सदस्यीय केंद्रीय टीम ने ओडिशा के गंजाम जिले में बाढ़ और भूस्खलन से हुए नुकसान का निरीक्षण किया। टीम ने प्रभावित ब्लॉकों में नदी तटबंधों, फसलों, सिंचाई परियोजनाओं, सड़कों, पुलों और ढह चुके घरों को हुए नुकसान का आकलन किया। गंजाम जिले में एक लाख से अधिक लोग, एक लाख हेक्टेयर धान की फसलें और छोटे व्यवसाय प्रभावित हुए हैं। केंद्रीय टीम ने पहले गजपति जिले का दौरा किया था और बाढ़ सहायता सिफारिशों पर चर्चा करने के लिए भुवनेश्वर में राज्य सरकार से मिलने वाली है।
