Times of India · politics
YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused the TDP-led coalition government of defying Supreme Court directives and manipulating local body elections. He demanded the appointment of an amicus curiae to monitor polls, along with the deployment of Central forces and CCTV surveillance. Reddy alleged that candidates were blocked from filing nominations or disqualified during scrutiny, impacting 23 urban local bodies. He claimed irregularities affected nominations for MPTC and ZPTC positions, with many mandals recording very few or no nominations.
