Vaishnaw: Semicon 2.0 Portal Only for Serious, Tech-Savvy Players

IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has stated that India's semiconductor and manufacturing schemes are exclusively for serious, technologically capable companies, with no room for frivolous applicants. He announced the launch of the Semicon 2.0 web application portal, which will initially accept applications for machines, materials, fabs, and packaging. Vaishnaw emphasized that the portal is designed to accept only complete applications from deeply rooted, long-term players. He also revealed that 18-19 non-serious applicants have been identified for removal from the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme list.

आईटी मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने कहा है कि भारत की सेमीकंडक्टर और विनिर्माण योजनाएं केवल गंभीर, तकनीकी रूप से सक्षम कंपनियों के लिए हैं, जिनमें गैर-गंभीर आवेदकों के लिए कोई जगह नहीं है। उन्होंने सेमीकॉन 2.0 वेब एप्लीकेशन पोर्टल के लॉन्च की घोषणा की, जो शुरू में मशीनों, सामग्रियों, फैब्स और पैकेजिंग के लिए आवेदन स्वीकार करेगा। वैष्णव ने जोर देकर कहा कि पोर्टल को केवल गहरी जड़ें जमाए हुए, दीर्घकालिक खिलाड़ियों से पूर्ण आवेदन स्वीकार करने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स कंपोनेंट्स मैन्युफैक्चरिंग स्कीम सूची से 18-19 गैर-गंभीर आवेदकों की पहचान की गई है जिन्हें हटाया जाएगा।
