Bank Strike Deferred After IBA-UFBU Meeting

A planned three-day bank strike, scheduled from September 28 to September 30, has been deferred. The decision came after a meeting between the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) and the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) on Sunday evening. Key demands include a five-day work week and reforms to the performance-linked incentive scheme. A high-level committee will be formed to discuss holidays, and discussions will begin on modifying the PLI scheme for officers. Residual issues will also be addressed.
