Karnataka Government Considers Official Recognition of Kannada Flag

The issue will be discussed during the upcoming Winter legislature session in Belagavi, starting November 30. The government also plans to allow private institutions to fly the flag and may make it mandatory in government-supported institutions. Shivakumar emphasized that official recognition would elevate Karnataka's stature within India's federal structure, aiming to achieve this legally without disrespecting the national flag.

कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री डी. के. शिवकुमार ने घोषणा की है कि राज्य सरकार कन्नड़ झंडे को आधिकारिक मान्यता देने पर विचार कर रही है। इस मुद्दे पर 30 नवंबर से शुरू होने वाले बेलगावी में आगामी विंटर विधानमंडल सत्र के दौरान चर्चा की जाएगी। सरकार की योजना निजी संस्थानों को भी झंडा फहराने की अनुमति देने की है और सरकारी सहायता प्राप्त संस्थानों में इसे अनिवार्य भी कर सकती है। शिवकुमार ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि आधिकारिक मान्यता से भारत की संघीय संरचना के भीतर कर्नाटक का कद बढ़ेगा, और राष्ट्रीय ध्वज का अनादर किए बिना कानूनी रूप से इसे हासिल करने का लक्ष्य है।
