Times of India · politics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by referencing a political jibe about turning potatoes into gold. Addressing a gathering in Gujarat's Banaskantha district, Modi stated that local farmers were already achieving this feat through their hard work and modern irrigation techniques. This remark directly alluded to Gandhi's 2017 comment, which the BJP has frequently used in political attacks. The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to Gujarat, during which he will inaugurate several development projects.
