Senior advocate Kapil Sibal stated he has "no hope" of relief from the courts, calling the Supreme Court the sole institution capable of saving the Constitution. His remarks followed stringent restrictions imposed by Delhi Police for a Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest. The CJP was demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner over alleged electoral roll irregularities. The protest was thwarted by detentions and restrictions, despite an urgent Supreme Court mention challenging the curbs. The court directed that a complete shutdown could not be permitted.
