Florida Climber Rescued After Two Nights Stranded On Mount Shasta Glacier

A 39-year-old Florida climber was rescued from Mount Shasta after spending two nights trapped in a crevasse with a serious leg injury. Freezing temperatures and 60 mph winds prevented helicopter evacuation, forcing rescuers to reach him on foot. The climber, inadequately dressed for the conditions, fell into the crevasse while descending. He was eventually carried across hazardous terrain to a location where a helicopter could safely pick him up and transport him to a hospital for treatment of his injuries and frostbite.
