Govt Skilling Programs Fail Workplace Readiness: Report

Government skilling programmes are not consistently producing workplace-ready talent, according to a Gi Group Holding report. Key barriers include a lack of behavioural skills and exposure to current workplace tools. Only 25 per cent of participants secured direct placement, while 33 per cent sought jobs elsewhere. Many employers find government skilling certificates carry little weight in hiring decisions, with 47 per cent stating they hold no value.
