FSSAI Launches Start-Up Cell To Help Food Businesses Navigate Safety Rules
Times of India · startup
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is launching a dedicated Start-Up Cell next month to assist new food businesses. This initiative aims to help entrepreneurs understand complex regulatory requirements, including licensing, product standards, labelling, and advertising claims. Start-ups can seek guidance through weekly online sessions every Wednesday or via email. While the cell offers advisory support, it does not provide exemptions from existing rules or automatic approvals. This move seeks to simplify compliance for emerging food ventures, ensuring they can bring products to market safely and efficiently.
