Delhi's Free Entry for Electric Trucks Fails to Attract Buyers Three Months On
Mint · automobile
Delhi's initiative to encourage mid-sized electric trucks by exempting them from 'no-entry' restrictions has seen no success. Nearly three months after the electric vehicle policy was introduced, not a single N2 category e-truck has been registered in the capital. Data from the government portal Vahan reveals this lack of uptake. The situation raises concerns about whether offering only an entry exemption is sufficient to incentivize the adoption of more expensive electric trucks over traditional fossil fuel vehicles.
