Economic Times · stocks
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) significantly increased their selling of Indian equities in the latter half of September, offloading shares worth ₹21,745 crore. This followed an earlier sale of ₹14,116 crore in the first half of the month. Financial stocks experienced the highest outflows, amounting to approximately ₹6,943 crore, with oil & gas and auto sectors also seeing substantial selling. This trend reflects portfolio rebalancing, profit-taking, and a closer examination of valuations relative to earnings growth by overseas investors.
