SJM has asked the Indian government to prevent the commercial launch of Elon Musk's Starlink satellite broadband service. SJM expressed concerns about India's ability to monitor communications and enforce security restrictions, fearing that laser links between satellites could allow data to bypass domestic gateways and foreign networks. The group questioned Starlink's capacity to precisely restrict connectivity when required by authorities for situations like riots or protests. SJM also highlighted potential misuse by insurgents and smugglers, citing instances where Starlink equipment was found during security operations.

एसजेएम ने भारत सरकार से एलन मस्क की स्टारलिंक सैटेलाइट ब्रॉडबैंड सेवा के व्यावसायिक लॉन्च को रोकने के लिए कहा है। एसजेएम ने संचार की निगरानी करने और सुरक्षा प्रतिबंधों को लागू करने की भारत की क्षमता के बारे में चिंता जताई, इस डर से कि उपग्रहों के बीच लेजर लिंक डेटा को घरेलू गेटवे और विदेशी नेटवर्क को बायपास करने की अनुमति दे सकते हैं। समूह ने दंगों या विरोध प्रदर्शनों जैसी स्थितियों के लिए अधिकारियों द्वारा आवश्यक होने पर कनेक्टिविटी को सटीक रूप से प्रतिबंधित करने की स्टारलिंक की क्षमता पर सवाल उठाया। एसजेएम ने विद्रोहियों और तस्करों द्वारा संभावित दुरुपयोग पर भी प्रकाश डाला, सुरक्षा अभियानों के दौरान स्टारलिंक उपकरण पाए जाने के उदाहरणों का हवाला दिया।
