Ahead of her autobiography's release, Sonia Gandhi's 2007 personal address in The Hague is being recalled. In the speech, she spoke about her early life in Italy, her resistance to politics, and the assassinations of Indira and Rajiv Gandhi. Gandhi compared her life journey to the works of Rembrandt and Van Gogh, describing it as a story of light and darkness, and inner struggle. She detailed meeting Rajiv Gandhi in Cambridge and her gradual discovery of India, moving from a middle-class European background to a prominent Indian political family.
