Fifteen-year-old Indian shuttler Tanvi Patri has made history by winning a silver medal in women's singles at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal. She became the first Indian woman to secure a badminton medal at the competition. Tanvi lost a close final to China's Zhang Yi Xin after an 82-minute match, with the score ending 15-21, 21-13, 26-24. This achievement places her alongside previous Indian medalists H.S. Prannoy and Lakshya Sen at the Youth Olympics.
