Arunachal Police Seeks Search Warrant Against Journalist Tongam Rina Over Anti-Dam Protest Violence

Arunachal Pradesh Police has applied for a search warrant against journalist Tongam Rina, deputy editor of The Arunachal Times, in connection with violence during a protest against the Upper Siang dam project. Protesters had vandalized and set fire to an office of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation and a police station in Pasighat on October 23. The police also sought warrants against youth leader Otul Jerang, activist Tajong Talom, and lawyer Sunny Tayeng.
