Serbian President Resigns Amid Corruption Protests

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić has resigned after over a year of student-led protests and public discontent regarding alleged government corruption. Vučić stated his administration maintained peace and stability during his nine-year term. He is now seeking to become prime minister in upcoming parliamentary elections. Presidential elections must be held within three months of his resignation, meaning Serbians will vote twice before year-end. Parliamentary speaker Ana Brnabić will serve as interim president.
