केरल के विपक्ष के नेता पिनराई विजयन ने कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाली यूडीएफ सरकार पर अपनी शिक्षा नीतियों और विकास निर्णयों के माध्यम से आरएसएस के एजेंडे को आगे बढ़ाने का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने विशेष रूप से कन्नूर में KIIFB-वित्त पोषित परियोजनाओं के लिए भूमि अधिग्रहण के सरकारी प्रबंधन की आलोचना की, यह आरोप लगाते हुए कि यह राज्य के विकास को कमजोर करता है। विजयन ने यह भी कहा कि CPI(M) भाजपा सरकार के कथित आरएसएस एजेंडे के खिलाफ लोकतांत्रिक ताकतों को एकजुट कर रहा है। उन्होंने मतदान के अधिकार और नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम पर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त की भी आलोचना की, और असंवैधानिक माने जाने वाले कार्यों के खिलाफ एकजुट प्रतिरोध का आह्वान किया।
