884 Fast-Track Courts Functional, Low Conviction Rates

As many as 884 fast-track courts are currently functional across India. The government informed the Rajya Sabha that 17.5 lakh cases are pending in these courts, with over 25 lakh cases pending in fast-track special courts. Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir have recorded the lowest conviction rates for three consecutive years.

पूरे भारत में अभी 884 फास्ट-ट्रैक कोर्ट चल रहे हैं। सरकार ने राज्यसभा को बताया कि इन अदालतों में 17.5 लाख केस लंबित हैं, और फास्ट-ट्रैक स्पेशल कोर्ट में 25 लाख से ज़्यादा केस अटके हुए हैं। लगातार तीन सालों से आंध्र प्रदेश और जम्मू और कश्मीर में सबसे कम सज़ा सुनाने की दर देखी गई है।
